YOUR ULTIMATE GUIDE: THE BEST OF THE BEST SKINCARE
Looking for a real review of skincare? An unsponsored cheat-sheet of holy grail, must-have, tried and true skincare that actually works? This is THE ultimate list of holy grail products from two skincare junkies that have tried everything (and we mean everything) on the market!
Lil’ reminder… Aliza has combination skin (oily t-zone and dry around the edges of the face) and Alana has normal skin that can get dry with changing seasons.

GOOPGLOW Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator
This exfoliator is the best of both worlds… you get that grittiness that makes you feel like it is really sloughing away your dry and dead skin but it is also gentle enough that you won’t be rinsing off a face that looks red as a tomato. We love using this exfoliator about two times per week (more than the instructions recommend but rules are meant to be broken… right?) and it leaves us with a fresh and glowy face!
Volition BeautyTurmeric Brightening Polish
This exfoliator is going to get rid of EVERYTHING and we mean everything that is clogging up your pores. It is a real face scrub and is the most abrasive exfoliator either of us use- we only use this once per week and it works magic every single time! This has been part of both of our permanent collections for a few years now, and has gotten us through breakouts, blackheads, and... blah skin!
SUNDAY RILEYC.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum
This is Aliza’s go-to Vitamin C! It gives a subtle glow to the skin and improves the look of dull skin that hasn’t seen a beach or sunlight in ages! Works great layered with other products and does not pill up under makeup.
OLEHENRIKSENBanana Bright™ Vitamin C Serum
This is Alana’s Vitamin-C must-have! It doesn’t cause any breakouts or uneven texture and gives the skin a fresh glow that makes you look like someone who drinks a lot of water! It is hydrating and sinks right into the skin so you don’t have that sticky tacky feeling.
Juice BeautySignal Peptides Firming Eye Balm
This is the best product if you have dry or dehydrated under-eyes. This balm melts down into the softest cream after massaging it into your under eye area and leaves you with the smoothest looking and feeling skin that you probably haven’t had since you were a bébé (said in a Moira Rose voice).
Glow RecipeWatermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask
This has been the biggest game changer in terms of skincare for either of us…ever. Whatever they have mixed into this sleeping mask honestly works magic. If you use this before bed, it will get rid of blemishes, white heads, milia, dry skin… literally everything and anything by the time you wake up.
La MerThe Revitalizing Hydrating Serum
This is the perfect-for-everyone product. For those with dry skin, it works great under a face oil and it works great under a face cream for that added bit of hydration without going overboard and feeling greasy and sticky. For those with oily skin, it can be used on its own to hydrate without clogging pores or making you look and feel even more oily. It truly is a chameleon of products.
La MerThe Moisturizing Soft Cream
This is our holy grail of skin creams, our old faithful if you will. This cream has seen us through every skin stage we have suffered through- acne, sun burns, dry skin, irritation… literally everything, and is the one we always come back to. It is super moisturizing without clogging pores, it works great on skin that has seen a little too much sun in the summer and that has felt far too much frost in the winter. Expensive, yes, but definitely worth every penny.
JAPANESE CAMELLIA SEED OIL (TSUBAKI)
https://www.oleobotanicals.com/collections/pure-oils/products/100-pure-camellia-oil-tsubaki-oil
This is Aliza’s favourite and the most simple face oil she has used. The oil locks in all of the hydration and moisture of all of the products layered under it and gives the skin a dewy glowy shine without leaving it feeling oily or greasy.
Kiehl's Since 1851Crème de Corps
This is probably the most underrated body cream on the market. It does everything- it hydrates the driest of dry skin yet somehow doesn’t leave normal skin feeling greasy or sticky for hours. It is unscented, which is great for anyone who loves body oil and perfume and doesn’t wants the scents to compete for attention.
